Tokuyama Universal Bond Kit is used for bonding direct and indirect restorative materials to enamel, dentin, resin composites, ceramics, zirconia, and dental alloys with a two-component universal adhesive system. The material supports self-etch, selective-etch, and total-etch techniques, allowing the bonding approach to be matched to the restorative procedure and tooth substrate.
During a direct composite restoration, equal amounts of Bond A and Bond B are mixed, applied to the prepared surface, air dried, and allowed to chemically cure without a separate light-curing step. The same adhesive chemistry can also be incorporated into indirect restorative workflows involving resin cement and a range of restorative substrates, reducing the need for multiple substrate-specific primers. Each kit contains 1 bottle of Bond A, 5 mL, 1 bottle of Bond B, 5 mL, plus application accessories for mixing and placement. Dental offices ordering a universal bonding system from their supplier can buy this kit configuration to consolidate several bonding steps into one system, since it includes both liquid components and application accessories needed to begin use.
The two liquids are combined immediately before use to activate the adhesive chemistry. Tokuyama Universal Bond incorporates functional monomers designed to interact with tooth structure and common restorative materials, including resin-based materials, glass ceramics, zirconia, and metal surfaces. Its universal format supports use as both a tooth adhesive and restorative-surface primer.
The mixed adhesive is applied as a thin, even layer and air dried to remove solvent and establish a stable bonding film before the restorative material or resin cement is placed.Tokuyama Universal Bond works through chemically activated polymerization after Bond A and Bond B are mixed, so separate light activation of the adhesive layer is not required. Its multi-substrate chemistry is designed to promote adhesion across enamel, dentin, composite resin, porcelain, glass ceramic, zirconia, and metal without requiring a different primer for each material. The adhesive can therefore support direct composite placement, indirect restoration cementation, intraoral repair, and other restorative procedures where substrate compatibility is critical.
This kit is distinguished by its dual-bottle self-curing format, broad restorative-material compatibility, flexible etching options, and combined adhesive-primer function, providing a streamlined approach to restorative bonding while maintaining control over surface treatment and application technique.
